Because of the Indigenous traditions she understood that water is scared an important for any life.

Her Journey as an Astivist

She started understanding the value of water from a very young age because of her Indigenous community and her journey activism became when she was eight years old when she visited another community, where there was sign telling people not to drink tapwater because it was unsafe. This shocked her deeply to learn that some community had to consume water after boiling it, and this moment has become a turning point in her life.

As she grew older she continue to speak about water protection and clean water. By the age of 13 she addressed many political leaders in the US to take action to protect water for future generation and in the year 2019, she was appointed chief water commission for the Anishinabek Nation.
